This is written to a group of people I know that has a tendency to be prejudiced.
Background on this piece: There are some individuals I work with who, unfortunately, have a habit of being a bit rude to people of lower rank. As I am the supervisor for these individuals, and as I absolutely despise elitism, I had a long and detailed talk with them about this the other day. This poem came out of that "little chat". I firmly believe that NOBODY deserves to be treated rudely or disrespectfully, whether they're the President of the United States or a convicted criminal (or both!).

Standing up for what is right
That is duty of ev'ry man
Standing firm, willing to fight,
Helping others whene'er he can.

Stand up tall, defend the weak.
Don't let others put them down.
Now is past time to be meek
Whether you wear a cap or crown.

Nobody anywhere has such a right
To treat others rudely and mean.
I will not stand for it, daytime or night.
I'm not afraid to cause a big scene.

You will exhibit kindness and respect,
Or else you will answer to me.
Heedless of color, rank, or of class,
You evermore shall be.
