A poem of life and death as it relates to an apple.
I devour it like an animal
its nectar on me bleeds
now a tiny, white skeleton
merely core stem and seeds
the apple is no longer whole
broken up inside me
its serving something greater
its particles are widening
finally it has been released
from the boundaries of its skin
i help it fulfill its destiny
as i gratefully take it in

like an apple, when we die
God devours us whole
then into the boundless universe
belches out our soul
then we are a billion seeds
planted in the sky
looking down upon the earth
the apple of our eye
don't ever feel too great or small
and remember this my friend
whether you eat it or it eats you
we're all one in the end
