Even the closest of friends can become strangers
We faced each other
separated by a window
that might have been
the berlin wall
only breaking it
would not bring us
any closer
You stamped your foot
complaining about the cold
and I hurried outside
to join you
We drove away
carrying our wall with us
and we were sisters again
for old time's sake.
