La Diga
La diga works, shovels away
pounding at the earth to come help him play.
La diga is an old grumpy man,
Sweats, and works from noon to ten.

Up in the mornin'
down to the breakfast table
pets the cat and back at work.

Shovels, hard, work till ten.
Got no water, food or cats to lend.
Just himself, the shovel and his bad ol' hand.
La diga.
