subtitle: The Drunken Lonely Kutztown Blues
tonight is fermented in this red plastic cup
and i'll drink it down and
pretend i'm someone else
until i throw it back up
a long walk home and the moon keeps me company
the stars save me from my misery
on these nights, my mind surprises me with what it sees
stuck in this haze that's supposed to numb me
but when i crawl into my bed after a long night of feigned sobriety
i'm anything but numb
the blankets hold me down
cause if they didn't
i'd probably be running straight to you
tears would run down my face
and you'd ask me why i'm crying
and i'd look down and
let the last tear fall into my red plastic cup
