A poem that makes a comparison

White and lemon, sky blue and pink,
Magenta orange, fiery flowers blazing,
Where do you go when so low you sink,
Eventually disappearing and taking the light
With you?

Do you wander around the world all night,
Experiencing things I have never seen,
Leaving me behind as you journey all night,
Do you miss me as I await your return,
Or are you too busy and enthralled to keep me
With you?

While in blazing color and light you travel,
Soaking up drops of daring and delight,
Do you realize that sometimes I unravel,
Here in a darker light, as you've taken brightness
With you?

I know I digress and wax very foolish,
We go through this every night it seems,
And I shouldn't be absolutely childish,
As I know you left me because you could not
Take me with you.

Your fire would have burned me that close all night,
Riding you over the world and it's delights,
I could not have taken your heat and light,
I'd have died before your morning rise had you
taken me with you.
