the power of darkness...
However grave this darkness grows
I can't give in, I won't walk the way of Death.
How she calls to me each night,
each moment her growing strength I fight.
Sometimes though, I can't help but become fascinated.
Her beauty rocks through my soul,
promising security and rest.
There are days I long to lay her hand to my breast
that she might drain the life from me,
drain the love that is blind,
drain any light she might find.
There are nights when I call her to come
and in my mind we run,
we dance.
Playfully I flirt with her,
daring her ever to touch me,
knowing if she succeeds
her knifelike fingers, her claws
will force me to bleed.
Yet somewhere inside
my blood longs to cry
and I am ever attracted to her beauty,
ever dancing the nights away,
rocking in her space,
nearer and nearer her face
I kiss her
and all light fades...
