A poem briefly touching the struggle to keep our thoughts at bay and, view life as it is.
Each day I die,
Can’t focus on anything.
Moments of life drift by,
Is sadness all that I cling?

Selling my soul for the distractions,
Illusions of a complex life.
Immediate gratification all it’s attractions,
Leaving nothing but pain and strife.

Standing still drops the veil,
Exposing constant thought.
And yet again on my ship I sail,
Obsessive behavior when will it stop?

Finding tools to stop the pain,
Tools inside me that I’ve always had.
Much practice goes into making me sane,
Bringing up demons that hurt real bad!

Vigilant mental contemplations,
Emotions to nip in the bud.
Day after moment tedious concentration,
Trying to grow a lotus out of the mud.
