Ever felt that the most defeaning voice is the silence!
I wish I could break this silence
An echoing emptiness within me
A soul that used to scream so loudly
Now silenced, as if dead.
What happened to those days?
When laughter wasn’t a crime
When the warmth of everyday sunshine
Would breathe me back to life!
It just seems to be a distant dream
For those days to come back
When I could smile and laugh
For the joy of just being alive,
Now my heart it never trusts
And my eyes that seek faults
My lips that never cease to complain
And eyebrows that never stop frowning
My soul that sleeps in silence
Numb of the constant wounds
Silence that seems unbreakable
Whom shall I call for help?
A pain that was born and breed
In a soul that was shattered
Then again I stop to rethink
Why must I break this deafening silence?
To hear my wailing heart!
