A poem on relationship bounderies.
Placing those orange, green, and

Blue wooden blocks in a

Good formation was hard.

They had to be tall

To make a big building.

I spent hours constructing and shaping it.

When it was just right, I'd step back marvel,

And then...Crash!

Toppling those blocks over after finishing

My masterpiece was fun at three...

But you and I didn't build anything

Out of wooden blocks.

As you tower over me

Like the tall buildings I used to make,

I wonder how to tell you

What I feel without toppling over

What we built.

Long talks over lunches on Thursdays

So I would eat.

Well needed hugs of encouragement from

Strong, solid arms.

A place to crash when I couldn't drive home.

A place to study when there wasn't one.

Long talks over lunches on Tuesdays

So you could eat.

Hugs that say everything will be alright.

I don't want to destroy those blocks.

Because I can't put them back.

I'm not three anymore.
