A poem about losing a loved one
Goodbye

I never said goodbye
Before you left my life
I never appreciated you enough
Before you moved on
I never said ‘I love you’
Before it was too late
Yet when you died
I never shed a tear
Does that make me a bad person?
Did I not love you enough?

I feel empty
Alone without you
Yet no emotions fill my heart
When I think ’bout that fateful day
When I saw your body

Why did you leave?
Why did you move on?
So suddenly, so soon
You were gone

The life left your eyes
Only your soul exists
I know you must be in heaven
Partying with all my other loved ones
Waiting for us to join you
To reunite on the other side

I never said goodbye
Never got to see you enough
Death came so fast
It surprised us all
You always seemed so lively
You always smiled at us
Always looking your best
Even when your life was lost

Memories…
That’s all that I have left
Of my time spent with you
You were one of the best
People I knew
I miss you so much
Even if I don’t show it
You were always on my mind

I never got to share
How much I care
About you and your life
You were always so kind
To everyone around you

Stories of out time together
Will always be told
Generation to generation
Till the end
I will never forget
Every moment I spent
With you by my side
You will ways be in my heart
Always a part of my soul
Never leaving me alone
Even though you are gone

I Will Always Remember Aunt Kay
