For Mike, the butcher who shocked us all, when he chose to end his life....
One minute here, next you're gone;
At least your suffering is done.
And now from heaven your star shines
While angels serve you food and wines.

The many days we spent together
Flirting and talking, laughing at life
And in my heart, you'll shine forever
You are a true pro with your knife.

You helped me see what is important
I entertained you, made you laugh.
To me your kindness always constant;
I'll pray to God on your behalf.

I did respect you above others.
We had connection - hard to explain.
The thought of your death chokes and smothers
Tears, pain, and sadness - hard to restrain.

The one dream that we fantasized together
Is left now sadly unfulfilled
Without you, it went straight to nether -
A hope that's prematurely killed.

I think of you and feel warmth rising
You gave me knowledge, helped me grow up
But now my heart is slowly icing
The thought of you I can't give up.

I still believe that you are living
I feel I'll call you, you'll pick up.
Like many others, Ill be grieving,
You're engraved deep within my heart.

Rest in Peace, Mike
