Kiss me gently,
Soft pout lips on mine,
And leave in my mind
No recourse
But thoughts of you to
Lull me off to sleep tonight.
How sweet and stirring
Dreams of you will be,
And sojourn on
Straight through
Until the light of
Dawn intrudes.
How did I know
Your lips would taste
As sweet as nectar,
Intoxicating me
And all I see
In all these half-light,
Midnight visions?

But starry night
And soft moon light
Still seeps in through
My windows like some
Passion stream seducing
All the meaning I’ve assembled
Just to keep control of all
Desires and ardor, and
Hints of carnality.
I mean that in the most
Virtuous way, of course;
How could I not?
She walks so soft,
Like wind hangs
Tempered summer rains
Just so, as they kiss
Bare and sparkling
Skin like angel’s wings.

Obtrude my mind,
And leave no room
For any other
Kind and pleasant
Passions that I’ve harbored?

Right beside me redolent,
Honeyed, perspiring, smooth
And glimmering body-
Fingers coupling
Post-coital cigarette
Like last resort

Presence of mind
