A cemetery at night is not always a frightening thing.....
TOMBSTONES AND MEMORIES

Ghostly flowers amongst the headstones,
shimmer in the silver starshine.
Powdered light, white and mysterious,
gilds the vista in cloudy silhouette
as swords of shadow cut the darkness;
limning everything with a jet black touch.
Satin moonglow suffuses this world,
adding an eerily opaque luminosity
to a recondite, phantom landscape.
A field of floral heads nod in gray profusion,
honoring the dead by living amongst them.
Swaying gently, they bob to hidden music
passing by on a midnight zephyr.
Gray and black, silver and white;
hypnotic are the colours of the gloaming
as they leak through the rocks and plants;
everything wraithlike yet tranquil.
Even ghosts rest in this mystical place,
an enigmatic scene, peaceful in utter stillness.
Fear has no place in the shadowy mystery
of this achromatic sanctuary filled with
argent tombstones and twilight memories.
All is quiet and serenity owns the night.
