Poem I wrote reflecting my feelings about being a female.
I am a girl.
Yet another fertile vessel
For the boys and the men of the world
—but I am so much more—
My body was made to carry others,
to nurture and love and hold.
This power means so much,
the power to sustain life,
locked securely away in my body,
waiting someday to be unleashed.
This invaluable power,
inside insignificant me?
