A poem I wrote when I moved away to go to college.
She watches her family disappear,
as she moves farther and farther away.
Today she has to grow up,
become the woman that is expected.
Leave behind her childishness,
and the family that carried her for so long.
Today she must start again,
only this time she is alone
in the journey of life.
With only her memories,
playing like and old movie.
A crystal tear falls down her cheek.
Straighting her shoulders and lifting her head,
she heads straight for her future.
With only a tiny glance back.
