A poem about an everyday nightmare
In this nightmare, nothing is wrong.
In this nightmare, the doors are not locked.
In this nightmare, no one chases, stabs, murders, betrays, or haunts.
In this nightmare, the only evil is you.

In this nightmare, you second guess yourself.
In this nightmare, you over analyze the slightest critism.
In this nightmare, friends become enemies.
In this nightmare, the mundane becomes horrific.
In this nightmare, you love runs bitter.
In this nightmare, it's all your fault.

In this nightmare, you convince yourself
No, I didn't want to go to that concert.
                                                                                         They probably suck live.
In this nightmare, you convince yourself
No, I didn't want to go on that trip.
                                                                                         The traffic would suck.
In this nightmare, you convince yourself
No, I didn't want to go to that dance.
                                                                                         The DJ probably sucks.

In this nightmare, you are your own captor.
In this nightmare, you create your own prison.
In this nightmare, you lock your own doors.
In this nightmare, you chase, stab, murder, betray, and haunt yourself.
In this nightmare, nothing is wrong.
