this poem represents the worst reaction of abuse
This Boy.

A boy lays underneath his bed sheets,
frightened by the man waiting outside his door.

The man knocks louder and harder,
yelling at the boy to open up-
but his words are slurred.
The dated metal of the locke cannot hold him back forever.

The brings the sheets over his head,
making his own cacoon.
He shivers in fear.
Hands trembling,
he entwined his fingers and lets out a prayer.

The knocking turns to banging.
Banging and more shouting.

The boy shuts his weeping eyes,
he is ready to die.
Close his eyes,
walk toward the light.

The door is cracking,
a monster is coming.

The boy trembles,
keeping his eyes shut with fear.

But the door has been broken,
and nothing can save him here.

The drunken man enters,
raising his fits like he is the almighty.
He stumbled across the room finding Jacob in bed.

Then he shot down his fits,
leaving him dead.
