Questions to a lover throughout life
If I desired such
Would you lead me through your dreamscapes
And the paths of your heart
Past the ever-breachless wall
And the raging waterfall
Where you tell me you love me in spite of your fear?

If I fancied it
Would you carry me on a cloud
Out to the ocean
On a starlit night
With no land in sight
And propose we spend the rest of our life together?

If I asked you
Would you follow me into the deepest forest
Where even the sun hesitates
And there is a power greater than Man
While I tell you if I can
That our child’s name will be Suna?

If I wanted to
Could we scale the tallest mountain
And spend a lifetime doing it
After we’ve already grown so old
And cradle each other in the freezing cold
As we see if our clasped hands can reach the moon one last time?

If I wished it
Could you give me the wings of an eagle
And a cord made of heartstrings
To bind together our whole
For the first adventure of the soul
As we shed our final breath against each others’ skin
With the truest words we ever uttered: “I love you”?
