Sick of the "Beautiful"

Suicidally Beautiful

Enticing and seductive
she makes you question life,
whether there is more or if this life
is just a competition for a pretty face.

Her smile penetrates but causes
you no warmth.
Her eyes cut deep
but hold no soul.

You will stare at her
your eyes adjust to her beauty,
now their focus has changed.
They thirst for the blinding perfection,
in opposition to what is even possible.
No one is beautiful after looking at her.

She wont let you sleep or eat,
in fear that you will never amount to as much as her.
You dream of nothing else.
Soon your eyes begin to lie,
showing imperfections that werent there before.
They scrub out all that is good,
and you will blame her,
grow to hate her,
hate her more.

Time slides by
and you no longer see your own beauty,
only what is lacking,
only what She has.
And you will hate,
come to hate yourself.

At first glance her beauty is elegance,
a savior from your dimly lit life,
but you'll come to realize,
through all of your very own lies,
she is suicidally beautiful.
