A poem written during an extremely bad day in school..
The Approaching Storm

As dawn approached
A soft rain fell, almost lovingly
On the shores where
The waves still crashed
The coldness - of it all
Swirled like a fog
And the dark skies imminent
Showing only
The days and things to come
The screaming silence
Broken by
A swift crow
Cawing as it winged past

Standing, seeing it all
With eyes closed
Red streaks in the horizon
Seared bright and painfully -
Leaving a mark
That would never fade

But suddenly
Just as the light
Had faded to a tiny prick -
A blinding explosion -
And for that moment
Everything was perfect
The way it should have always been

But as the stars
Turned to streaks of light
Vanishing in space and time -
To a black vortex
In the midst of pure Darkness -
Lightning blazed
And awakened -

Only to find the rain pouring down.
