I wrote this poem for my deceased grandmother who saved my life when I was in a fire.
You left a piece of you for me,
It's something that you can not see
I feel it in my soul each day
Since you saved my life that way
I pray to see your face once more
I could have burned and been no more
you came down and held the fire
from my face and rose me higher
flames around me wrapping tight
till everything was very bright
burned into the ceilings core
your angel wings spread from the door
the stupid things I did that day
you seemed to take them all away
you opened up my eyes to see
that God has much more planned for me
I hope that when I am dead
I can share the love you've spread.
