Final day of summer, arm linked in arm.
It seems that we became one, flesh and bone,
Meshing to form something new, strangely warm.
(Fiery eyes on the briny shore, alone.)
"You'll fall for her," they told you, "it's her charm."
And they were right, weren't they? You should have known:
Someone always gets in too deep. No harm,
No foul. (Darting, resting where the moon shone.)
"You know I have to leave." Poor empty words.
If I say nothing, maybe it's a lie.
Sealed lips. Dazed gazes. Unbearable holes.
At some point, you'll be forced to move forwards.
At some point, the heavens begin to cry.
I won't see him again. Poor empty souls.
