A poem about a superhero.
She always played the hero,
Always in the spotlight.
Her actions spoke louder than her words
And they always kept her in their sight.

She spent the day wandering
About how things could have been
If she wasn’t so responsible,
If she even had a friend.

But people don’t like her,
She tends to push them away.
She can’t get close to them
Or they may lead her astray.

So she slips into the tights
And pulls the mask over her head.
Whenever someone calls for help,
She knows that is where she will be led.

She saves them from fires,
From peril and from strife.
And no one ever thanks her
For giving them another chance at life.

One day she will be no more,
Her life will then cease.
And all those who ever need her,
Will discover a missing piece.
