A poem about the distance I put between myself and others.
Sometimes I want to smile and laugh with the world
But as I stretch forward to touch another
it seems they are further than my reach
the length of my arms not much and not more
than the miles in between me and the world
Push and strive is what my mother says
Go that extra mile and the inches will fade away
So I struggle for longer distances
and beg the the inches to disappear
give me back my space and yet I beg
that if you can, to take them away
