A poem I wrote based off a picture of Rapunzel I saw one day
This world is disillusioned
Nothing exists but burlesque confusion
The rain is falling up;
This life just isn't enough
Years gone by of being a chambermaid;
The dreams of royalty slowly fade
The towers were built to hide away a lie

"Everyone watches as their dreams unfold, why can't I?"
A voiceless whisper lingers in her head
Truthful lies keep the memories dead

The shadows hiding in the darkness come out to play
She watches as they come to where she lay
No longer will they haunt her heart
Instead, they disappear like a form of art

As the towers crumble down, a voiceless whisper lingers in her head
Truthful lies keep the memories dead

Loneliness and sadness are her faerytales
The light for the darkness is hidden beneath blood red veils
Upon the soiled floor is a sparkling dream
Along with the thread to fix the seam
(Of A Torn Heart)
She looks to the world with wide eyes
(Empty eyes)
As the disillusioned slowly dies
The towers reveal the hidden lie

"Everyone watches as their stars fall, and so can I"
A vioceless whisper screams in her head
Truthful lies bring the memories back from the dead

Along with the thread to fix the seam
(Of A Torn Heart)
