Here's to those who fucked me over. Shame on you once, shame on me if twice.
I close my eyes,
hoping, expecting,
that the world will be different.
I open them,
shunned, surprised,
seeing the world is no different.
I close my arms,
untrusting, unwanting,
needing nothing at all.
I open them,
trusting, wanting,
only to be lied to again.
