A poem about someone who I trusted not to hurt me, but did.
There was a time when I would have given anything
For you to say my name, but you were blind
You couldn’t see the happiness you brought
And now I won’t let you see my pain

My one and only everything
Turned out to be nothing to me
Lied straight to my face
Said that I was yours too

But now I see the truth
What you thought I was too blind to see
The curtain is gone and now it’s clear
You’re just no good for me

But please know I won’t fight this ache
The hole in my chest rips deeper everyday
Crumbled up bits of my heart lay at its base
I miss you more with every breath I take

I love you with all the tiny blood red pieces
I wish I didn’t feel this way
I thought that you were all I wanted
But now I have to walk away

The pain you stopped
Is back full force
Now because of you
