Singing in Darkness

it amazes me
how i can fake this life

how everyone thinks
i'm real

i'm not.

sometimes it feels so real
but those moments
fade

into some distant memory

and consolations slip
through my grasp like
sand

i hold on
hoping they will come
again

and i know that
in darkness,
Christ holds us the closest

He sits beside my bed
and i shiver as he tucks me in.

He cries for me
and i think he has abandoned me

but i never stop
Praying.

even if i don't believe it
i keep saying
"I love YOU"

and i do.
