I ran away a lot when I was younger. I'm just happy this never happened to me.
She quickly packed her bags

Running to a place unknown

She didn’t know where she was going

But she knew she couldn’t stay home

She walked that lonely highway

Waiting for a knight in shining armor

And when he came she was quick to yes

Because he was beautiful and sweet and a real charmer

Where you headed? He asked her

She said “Anywhere but here!”

And he drove with a sly smile

Saying “You have nothing to fear…”

And when he pulled into the abandoned truck stop

She still was confident that all was fine

Even as he told her they should stop and get some rest

Smoke a joint or two and drink some wine

She started to feel funny and couldn’t remember her own name

She must have blacked out a time or two

Because when she woke up she was undressed

And her knight was naked too

She wanted to scream, she wanted to run

But she just laid there feeling sick

And as he climbed on top of her body

The knot in her throat got thick

She tried to plead with her eyes

But he just wouldn’t look

So she tried to wiggle her body

But her actions were mistook

He thought at first she was wanted this

But now she was trying to escape

If she wasn’t going to give it up willingly

He was going to have to resort to rape

He punched her once with a strong fist

But she just screamed and wiggled more

So he hit her again and again and again

Until she didn’t scream or move anymore

Then he raped her lifeless little body

Until he had no more to give

And when he saw what he had done

All he could do was pray that she would live

He didn’t know what to do

Should he take her to a hospital or leave her there

He didn’t want to get in trouble

But he didn’t want anyone to think he didn’t care

So he made a plan to leave her in the woods

And when the sun came up he would call the police

And tell them he saw a body in the trees

That way his soul would be at peace

But he didn’t know the police were already looking for this girl

Because she wasn’t just someone looking for a good time and ride

She was a 14 year old who ran away from home

Who just got raped and died

Her parents would never get to say they loved her they were sorry

The last time they saw her they had grounded her for something she really didn’t do

Now they’ve lost there only little one

Her body is lying on a stretcher black and blue.

Her 17 year old knight was in jail with tears on his face

He had just had a really bad day

He never set out to hurt anybody

That was the last thing on his mind that morning when he ran away.
