About loss of trust
Ambush

I did not see it coming; what else can I say?
Your words soothed my greatest fears, brightened up my day.
Seduced, won over, I wanted to believe.
My guard let down, I didn't realize you'd deceive.

I can't believe I bought the deal for I've been stung before.
You're not the first deceiver standing at my door.
Somehow, my alert system failed, I didn't hear the bell.
When the alarm sounded, I found myself in hell.

It's over now; I am re-armed, alert for anything.
I'm back on my game despite what life may bring.
Tears have stopped falling though I'll never be the same.
But, a few hours from now, I'll forget your name.
