About becoming free of a bad relationship
Crashing,
Falling through the barrier,
Laughing,
Heckling in a corner,
Pulling,
Yanking on my clothes,
What’s a girl to do?
Screaming,
Silence surrounds,
Crying,
With a flood below,
Scared,
While bravery overpowers,
I was sitting at a crossroads.
Holding on,
Nothing left,
Clinging,
Memories not worthy,
Standing,
On my own,
Finally an independent woman.
Now I am free,
Able to do so much,
No more crashing,
No more of you heckling in the corner,
No more of you yanking me down,
No more words unheard,
No more crying floods,
Bravery has overpowered,
No need to be scared,
There is nothing left to hold onto,
The memories aren’t worth the pain,
I am finally standing on my own,
An independent woman with worth and value,
No more degrading me,
No more feeling low,
I am strong,
I am love,
I am logic to the puzzle of my own heart.
