School Shootings

A loathsome villain stalks the playground
And guns down the innocence among it.
In a fiery rage
And a thirst for revenge,
A hapless youth unleashes his fury.

The plague creeps through the edifice
Causing the inhabitants to wither and die as they’re infected.
No elder no teen can escape the fury of a hunter
With his sadistic state of mind,
And the passion of a cold blooded killer.

Students are nothing but fodder,
Human meat that need to be hunted.
To him, they’re polluting the air,
And so he must take out the trash.

Aloof and detached,
The assassin lashes out at his prey
And tramples them as if they were insects.

What does he care about them?
He is superior,
And could easily destroy their lives
With a simple motion.
But the insects cannot fight back
As they are too small to damage.

His job is finished,
There is no more trash to discard.
Yet in the end,
There is more than before:
Remnants of people who died too soon
And remains of a lethal grudge.
