A moment of bitterness

You speak of innocence,
You speak of love,
You speak of me as an angel,
From up above.

Yet, in the end, all I was to you, was a lie,
A fake,
Simply a toy.
A piece of trash you could discard
At any time.

Your illusion of
Perfection,
Has failed you,
You saw through my eyes
And you gazed down at this fallen angel,
Her eyes blackened,
Her wings shattered,
Her life nothing but darkness.

You once spoke of love to me,
Yet, now all you see behind these
Translucent eyes is nothing.

I no longer want you,
I no longer want to cry for you,
My tears no longer want to be shed for you,
Because in the end,
You’ll just turn,
And leave me oblivious
To my own self.
