not your usual emo poem... at all... but emo nonetheless
My heart is in sway
Like the dress of a southern belle
Whether an ocean of water or of earth
The horizon is too fast to chase
Phantoms romance in thought-lit streets
    When nostalgia wont sell
Fights over what came first
    The ying or the yang
    The fact or the remains
Back when we were two bandits in love
    We'd travel through the ages
    Taking the crowns of kingdoms
    Leave them their heavens above
We'd bathe in alcohol waterfalls
    Conquer paper mache fountains
    Battle windmills like Don Quixote
But just beneathe the stars' last visit
I had my own "Et tu Brute?"
There were fire agate, and flames below
Set ablaze by makeshift mercenaries
    The scoundrels can't be controlled
Now, what's done is done
I've met Satan at his dusty crossroads
    I've suffered the blues
I thought I was first in line
But with the Luck I have
    (who also scapes pennies together)
I walk to the horizon
    In a skeleton of shoes
So drink your poison, boys
We've got a thousand miles til our next stop
