Written to/for my mom following my divorce in 2000, she's still always here for me
As I grew I made mistakes,
Yet you were there through my mental earthquakes.
You never uttered “I told you so”...........
You let me know your shoulder was mine,
You held my hand and said "give it time."
As I grow I see a mother’s love never ends
From day one when it begins.
You are my mom and your love shows so strong,
You even hold my hand when I do wrong.

My mom sleeps with the phone by her side
for those nights when I have cried
I’m not perfect, but her heart doesn’t care,
she just tells me “I’m always here.”
I love my mom more than she knows,
I hope I’m a mom like her as I grow.

If I‘d had the choice I’d choose you.
Thank you for being there and all that you do.
As an adult and a mom I should be on my own,
Yet you help me and love me still down my life’s path.
Thank you for being my mom.

Many would have walked away from a child like me,
but you look and see only the good,
As you've taught me a mother does and should.
Reminding me of my strength and beauty,
you’ll never know all you mean to me.
I love you
