ever been involved with the perfect guy you just couldn't get yourself to love? me too
i won't lie to you or to myself
and i won't put our history on the shelf
you've been nothing but perfection as a lover and a friend
but who can tell the wind
what new direction it may blow?
if i don't say it, you won't know...
but i can't help the way i feel
and i can't fake what once was real
for much longer
will you linger just for maybe?
did you hear me softly say,
"goodbye, i love you
i'm not in it anymore
but thank you for your time"?
a thousand times i'm sorry
and a million words unsaid
a hundred empty nights will chill
an all too empty bed
a few unanswered questions
at least one unanswered prayer
i know this isn't fair
but love when was it?
where's the line between denial and despair
choices forced by faith and decisions reached through fear
and who can say what's right or wrong
or which way we're supposed to go
and who can know?
he is alone
god knows alone
