A metaphoric poem about loving someone all the while knowing they'll leave you.
Like a tiger at a zoo
striped and bored
beautiful behind the glass
so unobtainable
though I know you're mine
I'll never have you
I watch you stalk and eat your servings
and wait for you to stretch out before your den
You sniff a little and watch the horizon
Wanting something new
While I'm looking at you
I can only hope you' ll walk by me
as I watch in awe
I still want more, I always want more
but tigers aren't house cats after all
and so you'll stray
