I was inspired to write by a friend who will be having her baby girl in July of 2007.
Fists clenched, eyes squeezed shut,
You've never felt such pain.
Tears fall as you grit your teeth.
A scream erupts from deep within.
He holds your hand like he has before.
Compassion and love shows in his eyes.
His expression faulters as you squeeze.
another pain shooting up,
You squeeze his hand trying to bear it away.
Does he realize he caused this pain?
Sweat pours down as pain continues.
Finally it's over, the pain has passed.
Smiles surround you.
In your arms a little face looks up.
Amazing, this little thing is.
So little yet so big.
This was the life inside of you.
