A poem about inner turmoil
TURMOIL

Wild winds whirl madly about
Lightening and thunder roar and seem to shout

Leaves thrash in the streets like projectiles from the trees
Being whipped by an angry breeze

Burning red hot flames begin to rise high
The red hot auburn tips attempting to reach the sky

Suddenly the clouds are black surrounded by a halo of gray
Can't shake the feeling that something wicked is coming this way

Out of the darkness, past the fire, as the harsh winds blow
Something approaches…a thick, fierce, and intimidating tornado

Run, run! my mind chants the tornado is near
The fiber of my very being consumed with fear

My heart weighs heavy as I feel my body recoil,
I cannot move, my feet stuck in the soil.
As I battle with the terrible grip of my inner turmoil.

No place to run and no place to hide
because the eye of the storm is inner turmoil deep inside
