Quick, short poem--I'd like to hear your opinion since I'm reading for an audience.
Open your eyes—
A math test sitting unfinished.

Tanned arms and bare legs—
Sprawling under desktops.

Sky flowing in the window
Like a pool of water.
School is hot—
Freedom is a breath of air.

Fidgeting in class,
Basking in the future—

Summer upon us,
Black glasses and white sand
And an ice-cream sky
Beckoning from the window.

Close your eyes—
Angry, indignant, trapped.
Black lines on white paper—
Quadratic equations.

Summer’s hand caressing your face—
Unofficial summer—

A month and a breath away.
