High Hopes
High fears
From great expectations
Good will to heavy heart
Shaking hands
Chattering teeth
Clenched heart
Staying up all night
Insomnia for paranoia
Butterfly stomach and
Beating head bring out deep
Thoughts from the dead of your soul
Your itches and tremblings
Of fear weakly trying
To stop you
Throwing it all away…
Maybe the sun won’t
Shine another day
