Written during a fight, unfortunately it was too late.
I'm sitting in front of a blank screen
The room is filled with noise
I'm as empty as the air
Fingers dancing across keys

You know you're on my mind
I know you've been thinking of me too
Our thoughts surrender to the same theme
The patterns mismatching in fashion

I sigh in unwanted solitude
Not quiet by choice but here all the same
My mind as busy as the streets I travel
The road is bumpy and full of potholes

Haven't heard a word
The connection lost
Receiver off the hook
Pens run dry

Everything is incomplete
Words a chord away
Desire is not to blame
Will is the culprit here

But tonight that finally changed
Baby-steps have been the rhythm
Leaps and bounds were a chilling breeze
I finally took that first step

I made demands
I pointed the finger
It's all circumstantial
It's all up in the air now

I know the likely outcome
That path is haunting and yet so simple
The quarrel is typical of all things
I know it's a last chance for us all

I have one last wish
A secret desire residing inside
An unspoken prayer
It will remain a silent cry

Tell me that I'm wrong
Prove to me that I misjudged
Convict me for not trusting
Just don't let it be too late
