A five-year-old finds something better than being a princess...

I sat there watching,
Calmly as a cloud.
My five year old mind
Is Royal and Proud.

I am a princess
Awaiting her realm
To rule o'er justly
With scepter in palm.

The sunlight hit them,
My dukes and ladies.
No longer were they
Tulips and Daisies.

The little red suits
And golden dresses
Start to nod and bow.
The dance progresses.

They twirled around
In the evening breeze,
Dancing on their wings
With plenty of ease.

I watched them dance
Until the sun set.
They did one last bow
In royal respect.

And then I went home
Into my mom's reign.
As I stepped inside
I dreamed of that lane.

"All over again!"
Mom yelled at my shoe.
"Mud on the carpet
And just look at you!"

I looked down and cried,
"But in my kingdom,
I am a princess,
Mommy, I'm welcome."

She picked me right up
And hugged despite mud
"You are my daughter
And you are my love."

Because of that moment
I knew what's above,
And greater than ruling...

And that's a Mom's love.
