the dance lights
Its hot, and crowded, you enter the room,
You see the lights flashing, feel the bass boom,
It makes your head dizzy, and suddenly,
Your friends disappear, into the sea,
Of arms, and legs, and bodies tangled,
You stand there alone, unable to handle,
The stress of it all, when really it should,
Be much more relaxed; instead you’re like wood,
Frozen in time, and in space,
Impossible to plot or trace,
The spot of you, that feels the worst,
And so you leave, not for the first,
Time in your life, but deep inside,
You feel the grip like a rushing tide,
Carrying you, away from the world,
Away from the rest,
Away from reality,
And so it is, that you leave,
The dance.
