love and hate, hating to love. written freestyle, unedited
On the otherside
You lay already drifting into your dream
I opposite you wide awake cuddling my thoughts
Ciphering for the taste and aroma of intense passion
slapped in the face with pungent scent of reality
30 seconds ago
riding your rhythm
Now
nothing but the 1am air to stroke me
aftertaste of the temporary high that is us
incites a pain deep within
Cause I realize
I wasn’t Chosen
I wasn’t the one you wanted to go forth and frolic through the field of Lilies
I couldn’t be her.
You needed something I couldn’t give you.
freedom to move, as you like.
And come back when the urge directs you to
Persistent
You pursued me aggressively
I hesitated at first but you pulled me in w/your continual requests
Said you were starving for passion
So I fed it to you in large portions
Fed you like a mother…
Night after night
Afternoon or morning
Whenever you needed me to.
I took care of you
You needed to laugh and I made you.
Lulled to sleep by the sound of your breathing
I gave you all I had
And now my energy has temporarily ceased to exist
And the remnants of memories scattered in my dreams and thoughts
And what could’ve beens.
But you decided that you were okay with less passion and more stability than I can give you.
But that doesn’t stop you from calling
Doesn’t stop you from craving me
Doesn’t stop you from missing me.
Doesn’t stop you from loving me.
And I feel the same
