its a romantic poem about heartbreak
Don't just stand there staring at me
As if contemplating whatever it is you'd like say

I see the uncertainty that comes across your face,
Like a shadow,
And the sense of loss that glows dimly from your eyes

You open your mouth slightly as if to speak
And I can see the words that tremble there,
I lift my left hand and lay it's fingertips against your lips
And stop you before you utter a word.

Don't speak!
Please, just don't say anything.
Leave and don't come back.
Forget about me,
And don't worry if I'm happy.
I'm letting you go, so that in finding the one you're meant to be with
You'll know true happiness.

We both know the truth about this relationship
It was always 70/30
I always loved you and you...you loved me but weren't in love with me
So go...Just go...please go away

I watch as your lids fall closed, hiding your eyes away.
You take a step back and my hand falls away
And I start to feel dead inside.

You open your eyes and look at me as if committing me to memory,
Then you turn and walk away as I stand there watching you.

You walk to the door and reach out a hand to grasp the doorknob, when you stop,
Turn to look at me one more time and then leave,
The door shutting silently behind you, yet echoing loudly inside me

I slump against the wall and slide down, as my feet collapse under me.
When I reach the floor, I lean my head against my knees and weep
All the while damning myself for letting you walk away
