Cheesy Sonet about selfishness.
SELFISHNESS

by Rusty Cason

Our selfishness breed’s anger and despair,

When left unchecked it comes betwixt our hearts.

Confused by thoughtlessness we act unfair,

It hides inside then pulls our love apart.

As thieves concealed by darkness of the night,

It steals from us the things we value most.

Control through selfishness is never right,

Without the winds of change you'll be its host.

Don’t let tomorrows chances pass you by,

As time will slip away your chance will too.

Don’t let your flame of love be lost or die,

Give of yourself in everything you do.

Fill your heart with love and learn to live,

Abandon selfishness so you can give.
