My One True

All my life I've gone one way, the way that I was told
Didn't really know what it meant, all the while as I grew old

Religion is your way of life, is what they all did tell me
Never able to find the joy on my own, the wonders of Him to see

Rebellion is what I felt inside, is this all really who I am?
I wanted simply to find myself, but ended in a tight jam

Alone and sad, broken and lost, empty still did I seem
I had to find Him, shining bright, my ray, my hope, my beam

We cannot go this life alone, the road is just to hard
And if we try to live our way, we will only end up scarred

I need Him now, more and more each day, His love on me does show
But it takes some effort on my part, to grow in Him, this I know

Prayer and supplication, worship and trust
To be near to my Savior, all of these things are a must

To some this sounds so difficult, I have to do all this?
I thought loving Jesus was easy, is there something I have missed?

Salvation is open to anyone you only have to believe
If you ask Jesus sincerly into your heart, to you He will receive

Many trials ahead I know I face, I feel them drawing near
God, My Lord please help me, with you I have no fear.
