Let's not lose the child inside of us
The sky is so much bluer
The grass is greener too,
The sun always shines brighter
From a child's point of view.

Smiles are not as fragile
And love is much more great,
Hugs are in abundance
With a total absence of hate.

The view of a child's eye
Is filled with vigor and glee,
Not walled up or adulterated
It's unconditional and free.

No emotional baggage
Or judgments from the past,
Can cloud the enthusiasm
Where petty resentments last.

Chasing fireflies after dark
And watching shooting stars,
The softness of grass between your toes
An open mind without prison bars.

The eyes of a child
or purity and delight,
Not fenced in by boundaries
But filled with the warmth of sunlight.
